How to enter a dog sport competition
Ever wondered what’s *really* involved with entering your dog in a competition? We are going to break it down into a doable check-list to help you get started:
1. CHOOSE
Choose a dog sport that interests you and your dog, such as agility, obedience, or dock diving.
2. RESEARCH
Research the rules for chosen sport and find a local club/group/expert and get plugged in!
3. EXPERIENCE
Always go watch that competition first to get a feel of the environment, see the rules in action, and make more dog sport friends.
4. TRAIN
Train your dog for the specific skills and challenges of the competition.
5. REGISTER
Register your dog with the appropriate organization(s).
6. COMPETE
Compete to the best of your and your dog’s abilities, and have fun!
